Warranty claims

Warranty claims records a warranty or a supply exchange for work that was already billed on a ticket. A typical case: an implant fixture is replaced with a different size. Stock has to move, and the original ticket must stay unchanged.

The left menu label is Warranty claims. The list shows the code, customer, source ticket, status, reason, and type. Creating a claim starts from the ticket, not from this list.

Do not edit the original ticket to “fix” a later warranty. That rewrites a closed bill. A claim keeps the original totals and writes its own stock movement.

Create a claim

Start from the ticket

On the ticket, open Warranty & returns. Create claim is available when you can manage warranty claims. The form only offers supplies that were actually consumed on that ticket.

Record the exchange

Choose a reason and a type, then describe the stock movement. The claim does not create revenue and does not issue an invoice.

Open it from the register

Warranty claims lists every claim you can see. Open the code to see the customer, the source ticket, the charged amount, the cost, and the items.

Reasons: Product defect, Size mismatch, Patient factor, Practitioner error, Other.

Types: Replace supply, Redo service, Repair, Return.

While it is Processing

A claim in Processing can be marked completed, updated, or deleted. Do that on the card inside Warranty & returns, or on the claim page.

  • Mark as completed asks you to confirm. Confirming creates the stock and receipt records.
  • Update reopens the same form.
  • Delete asks you to confirm and cannot be undone. Deleting from the claim page returns you to the register.

The other statuses on the register are Completed, Rejected, and Cancelled. The ticket shows Warranty with the count of claims that are not cancelled.

Stock history in Stocks includes warranty movements, so a later stock check can see why a lot changed.
